HIGHLIGHTS

  • Entry to Windsor Castle State Apartments
  • Visit St. George's Chapel
  • Visit Queen Mary's Dolls' House
  • Visit Mysterious Stonehenge
  • Entrance to Roman Baths and Pump Rooms

Windsor Castle:

Windsor is the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world, and is the home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We will visit the magnificent State Apartments, furnished with some of the finest works of art and still used for State occasions; St George's Chapel - where the tombs of many kings and Queens lie...notably Henry VIII and his third wife Jane Seymour; and you will see the Queen Mary's Dolls' House, the most famous doll house in the world.

Mysterious Stonehenge:

5,000 years ago, these 40 ton rocks were dragged to the lonely windy plain of Salisbury Hill, and their secrets tantalize and intrigue scholars and visitors to this day. Some say that Stonehenge was a religious temple; others that it was an astronomical clock; still others believe it to be a Bronze Age burial ground. Learn more about this iconic monument steeped in mystery and legend, and let your imagination be captivated by its silent, ancient mysteries.

Bath:

The honey-coloured Georgian terraces of Bath, standing on the slopes of the River Avon, have enchanted visitors and residents alike for centuries. During your panoramic tour of Bath you'll appreciate why this is so ? the beautifully proportioned crescents and lovingly cultivated flower beds are a testament to the vision of its 18th century planners, and it's no surprise that the city was the first in England to be designated a World Heritage Site. Bath owes its existence to the hot spring water that, according to legend, cured the ancient British King Bladud of leprosy. The water maintains a constant temperature of 46°c and is credited with a variety of health restoring properties. There'll also be time to explore the "lantern of the West."

Bath Abbey:

Standing proudly on the slopes of the River Avon, this beautiful Georgian city was the first city in England to be designated a World Heritage Site. The gorgeous 15th Century Bath Abbey, the stunning Georgian architecture, the romantic Pulteney Bridge modeled on Florence's Ponte Vecchio, are all sights to linger on in the memory of your day.

Roman Baths:

No tour of Bath would be complete without a visit to the famous Roman baths that gave the city its name. This beautifully preserved bathing complex still flows with water from Britain's only hot spring. Marvel at the dazzling torch-lighting ceremony as dusk falls (not applicable in summertime) and sip Bath's healing waters in the Pump Room, a stunning neo-classical salon.
